Description: Lethbridge Police Victim/Witness Services is a 24/7 police-based victim assistance program that was developed and launched in 1991 to provide information, support and referrals to victims or witnesses of crime and tragedy in Lethbridge. Lethbridge Police Victim/Witness Services is a proud member of the Alberta Police-Based Victim Services Association.
Volunteer crisis support workers are "first responders" who provide practical support during the first few critical hours after a crime or tragedy. VWSU serves as a central information point for those who have been victimized, providing updates on the status of an investigation or court case as well as information about victim impact statements, requests for restitution, provincial financial benefits and referrals to counseling services, shelters, child protection and crisis lines.
