Position: POVERTY SIMULATION KIT SORTING

Impact Statement: United Way’s Poverty Simulation is an interactive learning experience where people have the opportunity to see what life can be like for about 12% of Lethbridge residents living with low incomes.

The kit is composed of various props and laminated pieces representing identification, personal possessions, money and more. There are envelopes for 26 different families and 20 volunteer stations. After each simulation, the pieces must be sorted and placed back into their original envelopes.
Description: Volunteers will help to first unpack the envelopes used in the previous simulation, sort kit pieces, alphabetize pieces when necessary, and finally re-pack envelopes according to the simulation master list.

The United Way office is located on the upper floor and is not wheelchair accessible. The United Way office IS accessible by public transit.
