Are you a Southern Alberta History buff? Or maybe you’ve got an entrepreneurial itch or you’ve always been interested in tourism and would like to lend your ideas to a non-profit.
The Great Canadian Plains Railway Society is an organization that runs a site North of the Village of Stirling that features a VERY unique building; the former border-straddling train station between Coutts, AB and Sweetgrass, MN from 1890-1916. It’s been relocated and restored and now welcomes guests and visitors every summer.
The organization is currently accepting applications from prospective volunteers who would like to come and help develop the next strategic plan/vision for the Galt Historic Railway Park. This committee commitment will let you flex your creative and critical thinking, help craft a new visioning plan, conduct market and membership surveys and then make a plan to boldly move forward with key priorities!
Time commitment will be in the range of 3-5 hours per month for a one-year term. Meetings will be on site at the Galt Historic Railway Park near Stirling.
Some experience would be excellent, though volunteers who are keen to learn more about a strategic process or business planning would be welcome as well.
