Once per week Lethbridge Family Services: Immigrant Services provides a Women’s Conversation Circle to support English practice among newcomers. In order to better accommodate the needs of the newcomers, an additional support is required for the child minding.
The individual will be responsible for organizing activities with children for 2 hours per week at the Women’s Conversation Circle. The individual will have support from volunteers on a weekly basis.
During Women’s Conversation Circle events (once or twice per 4 month time period) the individual, along with their volunteer base, will assist the Women’s Conversation Circle Facilitators in participating in the event (with an emphasis on supporting the children through the event). The breakdown of the workload will consist of two hours per week directed towards hands-on working with the children and volunteers during the conversation circles and one hour per week being spent arranging activities.
The SCIP position would run from roughly August 19th to December 30th. Dates are somewhat negotiable.
