The Canadian Red Cross Society, a non-profit humanitarian organization dedicated to helping Canadians, as well as the most vulnerable throughout the world, is seeking an Application Assistant Volunteer for Volunteer Resources. Reporting to the Volunteer Resources Coordinator, this position provides the volunteer based transactional support services of the Canadian Red Cross. Volunteer Resources strives to assist all programs with recruitment, intake services and will facilitate orientation training to qualified volunteers throughout Alberta Red Cross.
We are seeking for 2-3 volunteers, in each area, with administrative skills to aid in the on-boarding of all new volunteers for all programs/departments of Red Cross within Alberta.
Able to commit to a minimum of six months service, and available to volunteer at least 4 hrs/week, during office hours 8:30am-12:00pm or 1:00pm-4:30pm
Excellent communication skills
Good organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to work alone and within a team
Computer training and intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Smart Sheet and Raisers Edge an asset, An eagerness to learn our database system
A genuine desire to work with the Red Cross and within its fundamental principles
A positive attitude with openness to new challenges
This position requires a successful Canadian criminal record check and a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check.
