Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering at the Colour Fun Run!
We welcome individuals and groups to volunteer, including youth 15+, newcomers, ESL, and Fine Options.
Below is a list of the possibilities that you can participate in:
Traffic Flaggers- Stationed at intersections to ensure safe crossing of runners. 18+
Traffic Flagging certification course is scheduled for March 12th @ 6-9pm. Please register by March 10th with Chelsea. All community members interested in this certification are welcome to attend. There is no cost for this course.
Sponsor Ambassadors- Meet & greet sponsors, escort them to their station, orientate them on risk & safety of throwing colour powder. 16+
Station/Sponsor Photographers- We will provide you with a map of the stations needing pohotographs. You are welcome to your other creative ideas as well. 15+.
Cheer Squads- If motivating & cheering others is your jam, you're prefect for this position. Along the route and at the finish/start line, cheer squads cheer on the runners while simultaneously directing runners the right direction. All Ages.
*FULL* Set-up, Take-down & General Event Support- Setting up tents/stations, running supplies around, answering questions from participants, amping up the mood of the event, helping clean up the area, and taking down the tents. All ages.
*FULL* Swag Sales- Process merchandise sales via cash & machine. 15+
*FULL* Registration Table- Sign-in runners, hand-out t-shirts & swag bags. This is a fast paced position good for those that are well organized and work well under pressure. 15+
*FULL* BBQ Support- Setting up the tables, helping serve food, answering any questions, helping take down the tables. All Ages.
*FULL* Photobooth & BBQ Photographers- Take action photos of participants in front of the sponsor banner while throwing a cup of colour on them. Also taking pictures at the post-run BBQ. You are welcome to your other creative ideas as well. All Ages.
*FULL* Colour Throwers- We have a few colour stations looking for energectic and safe colour throwers. 16+.

What Do I Need To Know?
The 8th Annual Volunteer Lethbridge Colour Fun Run on April 5th, 2020. A fun and colourful 5KM walk/run, where every person (human or not) is both welcomed and encouraged to participate. This event is not a timed event, therefore everyone who has fun is a winner!
To raise money for Volunteer Lethbridge’s various community programs. This is one of our biggest fundraisers, growing every year! Expected attendance is up to 500 people! With the help of amazing registrants like you, we have been able to grow this event, to support and foster a healthy and vibrant community. Through our amazing partnership with the University of Lethbridge Students’ Union, we are able to hold our event on the safe and spacious University of Lethbridge campus. The run both kicks off and ends in The Grove, on U of L grounds, where you as a participant will check-in, partake in fun games, and check out booths for warm-up with Zumba by the fun Sheila!
Will you be selling merch at the event?
If you would like to have extra fun and get extra colourful then you can purchase Colour Blasters and Colour Balls from our merchandise table! Please bring cash.
The Colour Fun Run will take place on Sunday, April 5th, @ 2:00PM. There will be activities before the run such as bean bag toss, Zumba, a photo booth, and music to keep you having fun and warm up before the run kicks off.
Check-in: 1:00pm & Zumba starts @ 1:45pm
Where do I park?
We recommend parking in either Lot E, Lot F, or Lot N for quickest access to The Grove. Parking is FREE on weekends! Volunteers and signage will be available to guide you to The Grove from the parking lots. If you are familiar with the U of L Campus the grove is behind the Student Union and Markin Hall.
What do I need to do before/at the event?
- Check-In at the run
- Share the Facebook event on your social media accounts, and let your followers know you’re supporting this fun and colourful community event. You can use the hashtag #ColourRunYQL

The Check-In Tent at the run will be clearly labelled and easy to find for your convenience.
What do I do when the run is over?
Once the run is over, you’re invited to head up to The Zoo (U of L Campus Restaurant) for the BBQ and prize basket entry! A meal is included with your registration and you will receive your Meal Stamp when you check-in for the run. If you will have spectators cheering you on at the run, who would like to join in on the BBQ, they can purchase meal tickets for $7.50. Please note that only those with a stamp will be allowed to enter The Zoo. No stamp = no entry = No BBQ. So please don’t wash it off!
What are the prizes?
There will be a ballot entry at the BBQ, 1 entry per participant. The draw will take place after the event and the winner will be announced on Facebook and contacted on Monday!

What can I bring to the run?
- Cameras, GoPros, etc.
- Plastic water bottles. No glass will be permitted on site!
- Fun and wacky costumes
What can’t I bring to the run?
- Glass bottles/containers.
- Anything that could negatively affect the health, safety, and well-being of others.
What happens if it rains/snows?
- The show must go on! That being said, if we have poor weather please dress accordingly.
Need to know:
- Check-In at the run on Sunday at least half an hour before run time.
Then there are things we encourage you to do:
- Bring Cash, we will be selling extra colour swag.
- Show up early to register, it’s going to be busy.
- Use the hashtag #ColourRunYQL so we can see and share your posts after the event.
- Pick up your garbage and respect the other runners at the event. We’re all there to have fun.
