Position System Navigation and Education Specialist
Description System Navigation and Education Specialist – provide trauma informed crisis intervention, information, support, advocacy and referrals for adults and children accessing our services. The role calls for compassionate, dynamic and flexible individuals who can work both independently and within a multi-disciplinary team. Other duties include promoting awareness and competence through engaging and professional facilitation of prevention curricula, offsite outreach to potential prevention partners, and facilitation of prevention programs in a wide range of community settings throughout Southwestern Alberta.
Responsibilities • Understands and delivers services through a trauma informed lens.
• Cultural sensitivity and foundational competence in addressing needs of diverse populations.
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interact positively and professionally with both lay members of the community and professionals from a wide range of sectors.
• Knowledge and experience in crisis and suicide intervention; group work.
• Extensive knowledge of community resources in Southwestern Alberta.
• Experienced in provision of sexual violence services or crisis services, criminal justice service, collaboration and community development.
• Talented in researching issues, prioritizing and managing multiple work tasks and deadlines.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of evenings and occasional weekends.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as required

• Related human services degree and experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software, client management databases
and other technology systems.
• Clear Vulnerable Persons Check and CYM Required
• Ability to speak another language an asset.
Benefits Start is $21.60 per hour (37.5 hours per week) plus benefits,3 weeks accrued vacation. Following completion of successful 3-month probation period rate is increased to $23.00 per hour.
