Position Keep in Touch Program Assistant- Canada Summer Jobs Program
Description ‘Keep in Touch’ calls are made by volunteers who are paired with senior community members feeling isolated/lonely/disconnected and have requested a regular telephone call. Volunteers are screened and provided with basic training to perform the role. They are provided with information on resources and referral sources. If the senior presents a need that requires a professional, they will be referred to CMHA.
This new Volunteer Lethbridge (VL) is in its infancy, but solid program policy and procedures, as well as a communication plan have been developed and tested. We are looking for student support to expand the program to our senior community.
