Position: Volunteer Coordinator - Resources
Description: As a Volunteer Coordinator, you will provide professional subject matter expertise in orientation, recognition, and administration of site-based volunteer programs. In this position, you will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, promoting and evaluating volunteer programs with the Volunteer Resources department. You may be required to assist with recruiting new volunteers, providing orientation, as well as managing and monitoring performance and development opportunities. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Qualifications: A minimum Post-secondary Degree in Volunteer Resources or Human Resources Management, Business Administration or Management in Human and Social Services, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training may be considered. Volunteer Management Professionals of Canada membership is required. Supervisory experience is required. Exceptional communication skills, problem solving skills, and experience facilitating education and training to small and large groups is required. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Excellent knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite.
Previous leadership experience of 3-5 years in a volunteer service environment with an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity is preferred. Experience in a healthcare setting is an asset.
