Position: Chief Executive Officer
Description: The YWCA Lethbridge & District (“YWCA”) is seeking a visionary Chief Executive Officer
(“CEO”) to continue the organization’s track record of innovation and leadership within the
national YWCA network. The new CEO will be a passionate supporter of the YWCA movement
and a role model of its values. They will be accountable to lead the pursuit of its strategic
objectives and a champion of the mission of the YWCA.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be a highly motivated leader. They will skillfully represent the organization in the community, build partnerships, advocate on behalf of the YWCA and its constituents, and work closely with the policy governance Board and the organization's supporters. In addition, the CEO must be a strong fiscal manager who is responsible for raising
significant financial support every year through fundraising activities and grant applications. As the external face of the YWCA and a visible leader internally, the CEO will be committed to working from an anti-oppression, feminist perspective.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree is preferred but equivalent work experience will be considered
 A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an executive management position
 Knowledge of how non-profit organizations work (direct working knowledge or in a volunteer capacity as a Board Member)
 A deep track record of people leadership
 Ideally, prior accountability for creating and/or playing an integral leadership role in a capital campaign or significant fund development initiative
 Solid understanding of varied business functions including finance, marketing & communications, human resources and information technology
 Experience building effective relationships with diverse groups of individuals, including senior executives, the board of directors, government, funders, community leaders and staff
 Proven experience successfully working with a governance board
