Position: Assistant Trail Guide for Waterton Wildflower Festival - Guided walk or hike
Location: 201 Cameron Falls Drive, Waterton, AB, Canada

Vision: The Waterton Park Community Association provides recreational, educational, cultural and social opportunities for our community and its visitors.

The Waterton Wildflower Festival is a well-established annual event celebrating nature and especially the abundance of Wildflowers in Waterton Lakes National Park. Visitors from far and near come to the 6-day event to participate in guided hikes and walks, presentations, documentaries, movies, night sky presentations, photography and art classes. By being an assistant tail guide you can support both the session leader and the participants of a guided walk in order to provide a safe and pleasant experience for everybody.
Description: As assistant trail guide, you will be assisting the session leader on a guided walk or hike with up to 12 adults. Your tasks include:
Administer a roll call of the participants.
Introduce the session leader.
Arrange car pooling or lead the group to the shuttle bus.
Keep watch on the group, ensure the group stays together and everybody is comfortable and safe.
Communicate with the session leader if there seems to be a problem.
Keep track of time.
This is an exceptional opportunity to learn from the session leaders who are experts in their field.
Training Details: Training and orientation will be provided in Waterton Lakes National Park.

Working Conditions: Outdoor.
Ability to climb steep slopes and walk rugged terrain.
Experience or interest in working with adults in an educational/recreational setting.
Nature Interpretation skills, knowledge of local ecology/botany is an asset.
First Aid Certificate is an asset.
Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with Waterton Lakes National Park.
Minimum Duration: Special event
Timing: Weekday - Daytime, Weekend - Daytime
Time Detail: Walks and hikes are usually 3 hours but can also be 4 or 6 hours. Please arrive 30 minutes before session starts.
