National Volunteer Week Events
Kickoff & Flag Raising
Celebrate National Volunteer Week with us at City Hall on Monday, April 20th at 11:00 AM! Deputy Mayor Jenn Schmidt-Rempel will speak on the importance of volunteerism, followed by a ceremonial flag raising to honor the dedication and impact of volunteers in our community.

Seeds of Volunteerism Mural
This year, we are creating an interactive mural to represent each volunteer in our community. It is estimated that 46,900 people in Lethbridge volunteered in 2025. This is a phenomenal achievement! From those that simply help your neighbours, to those organizing events in a volunteer-run organization, each volunteer in our community contributes to the growth and connectivity of every person living in Lethbridge. During National Volunteer Week on April 22nd, 10am at Helen Schuler Nature Center, we will be hosting a launch event for our Seeds of Volunteerism Mural, which includes 46,900 seeds- one for each volunteer in our community. Individuals are encouraged to grab a package of seeds, and spread the seeds of volunteerism themselves.
We will be partnering with Helen Schuler Nature Center's Coulee Cleanup Launch Event to share the seed wall with the community. Come on out, grab some seeds, grab some food, and consider volunteering to help cleanup our beautiful city!

There will be 75 lunches available, first come first serve!
Volunteer Expo
Looking for ways to give back to your community? Join us for the Volunteer Expo on Sunday, April 19th from 11 AM to 5 PM at Park Place Mall! This is your chance to meet local nonprofit organizations, learn about their missions, and explore volunteer opportunities that match your interests and skills. Whether you're passionate about supporting youth, the environment, or social services, there’s a cause waiting for you!
If your nonprofit is interested in tabling, reach out to our Membership Manager, at Nicole@VolunteerLethbridge.com to see if there’s still space available. Priority for tables is for Volunteer Lethbridge members first.
Volunteer Recognition Certificates
Volunteer Lethbridge is proud to celebrate the incredible contributions of our volunteers with recognition certificates! This year, certificates are available exclusively to Volunteer Lethbridge member organizations. Member organizations can include their logo and the name or title of someone from their team to sign the certificate. If your organization is not yet a member, we warmly encourage you to consider joining.
Individuals who would like to recognize a volunteer’s contributions are also welcome to reach out! Please contact Ludwig at Vote@VolunteerLethbridge.com to discuss options for honoring someone with a certificate.
To ensure you get your certificates on time, please reach out by Friday, April 10th.

Speakers are available exclusively to Volunteer Lethbridge member organizations. If your organization is not yet a member, we warmly encourage you to consider joining.
